Little Mary Sunshine

Book/Music/Lyrics by Rick Besoyan; Directed by Stevie Tagye

Take a delightful journey back in time for this courageous and silly, wonderful musical. The world is a simpler place, good is really good, bad is bad, justice triumphs and thanks to the Rangers of the Rockies - virtue is saved. The plot has a little bit of everything: Colorado Rangers, a stalwart captain, a lovely Mary, a chorus of simpering school girls, and a villainous Indian.

“Little Mary Sunshine” is one of the most successful stage shows ever produced. This musical played to packed houses in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village for years and won every award for its score and enchanting performances. Billed as “a new musical about old operetta” – a musical spoof of old time favorites like “Rose Marie” and “Naughty Marietta” – Little Mary Sunshine’s marvelously satiric songs and naïve situations poke fun at all the cliches of the innocent musicals our grandparents enjoyed. Filled with wonderful fun and songs like The Forest Rangers, Tell a Handsome Stranger, Colorado Love Call, and Naughty, Naughty Nancy.
