Into the Woods

Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; Book by James Lapine; Directed by Wayne Grinwis

Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Prince Charming, and a Witch. They're all among the characters in this fractured fairy tale. When a Baker and his wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to, and stealing from classic fairytale characters. Eventually, everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them...with disastrous results.

Tickets go on sale Monday, November 15 at 610-363-7075.

Director Wayne Grinwis is looking for thirteen women and seven men for this musical. Rehearsals will be Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. The rehearsal schedule will be light, focusing on the music through November and December, then pick-up in January.

Some actors will be double-cast to play more than one role. Although the characters of Little Red and Jack are both young, children and teens will not be considered for those roles, only adults.

Prepare a one-minute showtune selection, preferably in the style of role you are most interested in but that is not from Into the Woods. Bring sheet music, as an accompanist will be provided; you may not sing a capella, with a CD, or with your own accompanist.
