Snow White

Greg Banks; Directed by Andrea Grinwis

A young girl with "lips as red as blood, hair as black as the bark of the trees, and a heart as pure as snow" has an amazing story to tell about the adventure that left her with a friend-made family and a wonderfully different kind of happily ever after. When only one of her seven friends shows up to help tell the tale, however, Snow White meets the challenge head-on, convincing "4" that they can take on all the roles themselves - from the evil queen and the conflicted huntsman, to the magic mirror and the pouty prince. Join Snow White and 4 as they tell this age-old story in a fun and exciting new way.

Cast requirements:
Number of Women: 1
Number of Men: 1

Character Descriptions:
SNOW WHITE: Female, aged 18 - 40. Starts out innocent but displays intelligence and strength. Determined to tell her own story without the others, she plays herself, but also... her own mother, the evil queen, the prince, the magic mirror, and, sometimes, even the dwarves. Snow White is the driving force of this piece. Actress may be any race/ethnicity but must have dark brown or black hair (or be willing to color her hair).

4: Male, aged 25 - 55. One of the famous dwarves. He is the only one who has shown up to tell the story and acts as the narrator much of the time. He is a kind and a devoted companion. He also plays the magic mirror, the evil queen, the huntsman, the prince, sometimes Snow White, and, in one brilliant scene, all the dwarves conversing with each other. Actor may be any race/ethnicity but must not be too tall.

Rehearsals for Snow White will be on a Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday schedule. Tech rehearsals will be held on September 1 - September 4. Please bring a list of any conflicts you may have to auditions.
