The Pajama Game

G. Abbott, R. Bissell, R. Adler, & J. Ross; Directed by Allison Beaver

Romance is bursting at the seams at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory.  Handsome new Superintendent, Sid Sorokin falls hard for spirited Union rep, "Babe" Williams and, despite her objections, it seems as though she's falling right back.  When the Sleep-Tite employees are refused a 7 ½ ¢ raise, the pair find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.  Babe and Sid must figure out how to come together while their beliefs are pulling them apart.  A three time Tony winner, The Pajama Game stitches together the promise of romance and the heat of politics, all tucked away in this fun musical.

Auditions

  • Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 7:00 PM
  • Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 7:00 PM
  • Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 7:00 PM - Callbacks by invitation only

You only need to attend one of the above audition sessions in order to be considered. No appointments are necessary. You should plan to spend about 2 hours at the theater for auditions (perhaps a little more or less, depending on turnout).
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and a vocal audition where you will be asked to sing a one minute selection of a prepared song in the style of the show (but not from the show) with provided accompaniment. There will also be a dance audition, so please dress comfortably.

If you have any questions about auditions, you may e-mail the director.

VERNON HINES (Male, 25 to 45) He is the factory timekeeper Sleep-Tite. He dates Gladys but thinks she flirts too much and, as a result is always jealous. Hines is surprisingly soft around the edges, with a kind heart and a talent in knife-throwing. Bass, vocal range: F4 - B2

Please Note: The Pajama Game requires a cast with vibrant stage presence that moves well, sings strongly on pitch and has excellent comic timing. Since all of the factory worker characters will be combined from several smaller characters in the show, we are looking for actors to make these roles ?their own? through interesting, strong character choices.

Rehearsals for The Pajama Game will be on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Tech rehearsals will be held on 2/24, 2/25, 2/26, and 2/27. Please bring a list of any conflicts you may have to auditions.
