Teen Audition Workshop

Directed by Lindsay Franklin

Welcome to the Addams family mansion, a place where dreariness, darkness, and gloom reside and their prideful owners host Wednesday's boyfriend and his family for dinner. When Wednesday reveals a secret to Gomez, how will he choose between being true to his insistent daughter or his demanding wife? Join us to see what happens when this iconic family is forced to act "normal" for a night!

Auditions

  • Friday, April 14, 2017 at 7:00 PM - workshop

On Friday, April 14, there will be an Audition Workshop for this year's Teen Show, The Addams Family. The workshop will start at 7:00 pm and should end no later than 9:30 pm (depending on the number of people that attend, we may be finished sooner than 9:30).

For those that are unfamiliar with the way the audition workshop works, everyone attending is encouraged to bring sheet music for a couple of prepared songs they are considering using for the Addams Family auditions (scheduled for April 23 and 24). It is unlikely that there will be enough time for everyone to sing through every song they bring, but it is recommended that attendees bring a few back-up songs in case their top choice doesn't adequately show what they can do.

The Audition Workshop will be run by the production staff of The Addams Family, who will be there to assist the attendees and provide both positive and constructive feedback that will help everyone to have the best audition possible. While the focus will be on music, depending on turnout and timing, there may be an opportunity to do some cold readings and some dance/movement (nothing complex or strenuous).

Attending the workshop is certainly not a requirement for teens planning to audition for The Addams Family, rather it is an opportunity to prepare for the audition and receive some helpful feedback. Other than the impact the workshop experience/feedback may provide, attending or not attending the workshop will have no bearing on the casting of the show. The workshop is being held solely for the benefit of those auditioning.

The audition workshop is free and open to any teen. Attendees do not have to be a member of Barley Sheaf. Please note that auditions for the Teen Show are open to any teens 13-18 who are currently in either middle school or high school. You do not need to make an appointment, just come and join the fun!
