Important Announcement Regarding Health and Safety at the Barley Sheaf Players

We are thrilled to be bringing live theater back to Lionville with our 2021-22 season and we look forward to welcoming you back to our playhouse. The health and safety of our community is our highest priority, and we are committed to meeting or exceeding the requirements from national, state, and local officials at the time of each performance. We have updated our health and safety protocols, based on the most current information and guidelines available. Recommended protocols may shift with evolving local and national guidelines, so please continue to check this page for the most up-to-date information when planning your visit to The Barley Sheaf Players.

Masks and Vaccination Policy

  • Proof of vaccination and masks are required for everyone who visits The Barley Sheaf Players. Audience members must provide proof of vaccination at the door, and must remain masked at all times when inside the theater.
  • To ensure the safety of our community, all cast members, production staff, and front of house staff (box office workers and ushers) have been fully vaccinated. Our actors - though fully vaccinated - will not be wearing masks on stage.

More Changes and Upgrades

  • A plexiglass barrier has been installed in the box office window.
  • All restrooms will be cleaned thoroughly prior to each performance, and high touch areas will be sanitized. Hand sanitizers and wipes will be stationed throughout the theater, and patrons will have the opportunity to wipe down their chair prior to the performance, if they so choose.
  • Given the space limitations within our historic building, we are unable to provide socially distanced seating. However, to maintain the flow of fresh air within the playhouse, all doors will be held open before and after the performance, as well as during intermission (ceiling fans in the auditorium will remain on while the doors are open). The HVAC recirculation system will remain on throughout the entire performance. Our HVAC system runs MERV 13 rated filtration and is up to date.
  • We understand things can change quickly and unexpectedly. If you are unable to attend your scheduled performance, you may exchange your tickets for another performance of the same show up to three hours before curtain time. You can do this online using the code you received in your confirmation email, or by leaving a message on our voicemail system (610 363-7075).
The policies outlined above are consistent with other theaters in the suburban Philadelphia region. We look forward to making your visit to our theater rewarding and memorable, while working together to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved.
